Country Sales Manager, Philippines

Job Description

The Country Sales Manager, Philippines is accountable for generating revenue. He/she translates and locally implements regional/country sales strategy in order to achieve its short and long-term sales goals in the relevant country(ies). He/she is accountable for the development and execution of new account and sales plans in order to ensure that the overall group’s sales volume and profitability objectives are met.

The role is responsible for managing the distributor. Responsibilities include sales and account management, Trade marketing and managing e-commerce channels (where applicable).

Works with Centre of Excellence (COE) for Shopper Marketing to ensure that Shopper Marketing plans across all channels (in-store and online) are consistent and in line with guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for realizing local sales results vs. targets
  • Responsible for leading the sales team (including sales and account management, trade marketing and managing e-commerce channels (where applicable).
  • Responsible for managing the Distributor/s (including sales and account management, trade marketing and managing e-commerce channels (where applicable).
  • Execute general pricing, promotional pricing and trade margins within guidelines.
  • Apply centrally defined Sales / Customer Strategy and Segmentation to local market.
  • Support International Key Account Management (for countries where key accounts are present) in the development of the account planning for named International Key Accounts.
  • Define account planning, prioritization of initiatives and negotiation approach for local key accounts, and monitors progress on account plan.
  • Accountable for negotiation and contracting with all local accounts, including trade allowances and other contractual conditions, within the constraints of central guidelines
  • Define and monitor trade spend per customer and provide forecasting information on pricing and trade spend to the central organization.
  • Provide input for shopper insights and strategy, promotion guidelines & POS display standards and deploys trade marketing strategy towards customers. Plan and develop local promotions and tracks promotion effectiveness.
  • Provide input to AOP process.
  • Ensure the Distributor delivers on business targets by managing delivery against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and SLAs (Service Level Agreements)

Qualifications

  • Degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 7+ years’ of experience in the FMCG industry with multiple brands portfolio, direct sales and distributor management models.
  • Proven track record in business development in the Philippines’ market, managing distributors and JV partners.
  • Sales and Marketing/Trade Marketing experience. 
  • Excellent negotiation/Presentation skills
  • Able to think strategically on both Marketing and Sales perspectives, with strong business mind set
  • Ability to manage a changing workload in a dynamic deadline-driven changing environment. 
  • Demonstrated drive, confidence and risk taking.
  • Ability to work a complex/matrix corporate structure. 
  • Proven ability to anticipate needs and initiate action.
  • Ability to translate strategy & insights into pragmatic execution plans.
